The temperatures here in Michigan have been close to a hundred degrees for the past several weeks! It may not be that hot to some of you in warmer climates but to us here in Michigan it is definitely warmer than usual!! 🙂 We have been trying to come up with simple ways to beat the heat and one thing we love to do is make this simple 3 ingredient ice cream.
Regular ice cream is so horrible for your body that we wanted to come up with a healthy alternative that I can feel good about my kids eating. I definitely wanted to keep dairy out of the ice cream and that is why we substituted the bananas for milk! We added in Peanut butter and cocoa to make it taste like a sweet treat without adding in artificial sweeteners or other chemicals.
To make this you can use any type of blender that you would like but I use the Nutribullet. I love how fast and easy it is to use and the large cup makes the perfect size for two people to eat. You can get it here on Amazon- Nutribullet
Simple 3 Ingredient Ice Cream
- 2 Large Bananas (Chopped & Frozen)
- 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter (Creamy)
- 1 tablespoon Cocoa Powder
Chop 2 bananas into small slices and then place in freezer until almost frozen but not solid. (Otherwise you will have trouble blending the bananas and may end up with chunks in your ice cream)
In a blender add in bananas, cocoa powder and Peanut Butter. I use a Nutribullet to make our and find it holds just the right amount and is super quick and simple to use.
Mix on high until it is completely blended. Pour into bowl and Enjoy!
