Reclaimed Window Picture Frame

We have been working hard remodeling our old farmhouse! Our latest project was our remodeling our Living Room.  I have decided to take the farmhouse feel and use it to decorate our entire house.  I can’t wait to share with you guys all the new furniture we have made to go with our new living room too! One of my favorite pieces is this Reclaimed Window Picture Frame!

One thing I really wanted to do was find a way to incorporate an old window that I had found in a back abandoned barn into our new room.  So I decided to create a picture frame that would match all the furniture.

Here’s how I made it…

  1. I broke out all the remaining glass that was in the pane.
  2. I power washed the frame to remove any chipping pieces of old white paint that was on it and let it dry.
  3. Took stain in “Jacobean” color and stained the whole window. Sold here on Amazon!
  4. To make the clips I found small clips at Hobby Lobby and used very small nails to nail the clips to the wood. These are the ones we used- Metal Hinge Clips
  5. To make the pictures stronger when hanging I cut cardboard to fit behind the picture and glued these together.
  6. Cut string to the desired length and tied it in a knot.  I put two holes in each photo with a hole punch to attach the photo and the string together.
  7. Hung it on the wall.  That’s all! It was quite simple!
