It’s getting closer… Spring! I’m so excited for warmer weather and green grass and the list goes on and on… 🙂 At the end of Summer last year I picked up a hummingbird feeder at a yard sale for just 25 cents! This spring I want to put it out to attract hummingbirds to my yard! I’m always looking for ways to make things myself because honestly it costs more money to go to the store and buy the food pre-made! During this winter I found several different recipes on how to make the hummingbird food with simple and cheap things you probably already have at home!
Here’s How to make it:
- Boil 1 cup of water and 1/4 cup of either granulated or brown sugar. (Whichever, you have at home)
- Let cool and then pour into your hummingbird feeder.
- OPTIONAL: You can add 2-3 drops of Red food coloring into the sugar water to make it the red color like store bought. But it is not a requirement because the hummingbirds will come to it without the food coloring too!
