How to make a Dandelion Tincture

A couple days ago I wrote about the benefits of using Dandelions in natural healing.  I promised a recipe on how to make your own Dandelion Tincture so here it is!! If you want to see the benefits of using Dandelions you can see it here –>Many Uses of Dandelions in Natural Healing

For General health you should  take about a 1/2 teaspoon of the tincture a day to help keep your body working at peak performance.

How to make your own dandelion tincture

Dandelion Tincture

  • Dandelions (Leaves & Roots (You will need enough to fill a Mason Jar))
  • Vodka (Enough to fill the Jar)

Step 1
Pick enough Dandelions to fill a Jar. I use a Mason Jar but you can choose what size jar you will want to make.
Step 2
Wash the dirt and residue off all the dandelions. I then chop the leaves and roots into small pieces but you can leave them whole if you want to. (Take off the flowers)
Step 3
Fill up a Jar with the leaves and roots and then pour vodka into the jar until it is full.
Step 4
Seal up the jar and leave in a place AWAY from sunlight. Let sit for 2 weeks if you chopped the dandelions or 4 weeks if you left it whole.
Step 5
Strain out the plant parts and save the liquid. This is the part that you will be ingesting. Throw out the leaf/roots. **The longer you let the tincture set before straining the stronger it will be**

**PLEASE NOTE: I am not a doctor.  If you have questions or concerns about you health and the above recommendations be sure to check with your doctor first.**
